Poet Amanda Jernigan returns to Art Waves with two
exquisite chapbooks: The Temple and Years, Months, and
Days. Both are linked by this unchurched pilgrim's spiritual
searching. The first was inspired by her own motherhood, and its
attendant awareness of the perimeters of life. The second sprang
from Jernigan's compassionate awe at walking among the gravestones of
an Old Order Mennonite churchyard, where the lives of the dead are
remembered to the number of years, months and days they were given on
earth.
